12/20/06 How far along are we?

Okay, let me share something about adopting. You feel like your pregnant and have no clue when the due date is!
Only guessing, but our paperwork has probably been translated already and is in or waiting to go into Family Court. I can't be sure b/c it is December and from what I've heard they all but shut down during the Holidays.

11/17/06 "BitterSweet"

Well October was a bittersweet month for me. We lost my grandmother on October 16, 2006. Little did we know that while we were losing such a special person on that day, another special person was being born.

We were matched with a baby girl at the beginning of November: Her DOB 10-16-06 .
God works in His own way, but I sure do love the way He works! Things will never be quite right without Maw Maw, but He sent us someone to give comfort right when we needed it most.

I have prayed for this child and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him....Samuel 1:27

Philip and I have been discussing adoption since we were engaged in 2002. After alot of thought and research, and many months of my "obsessing" over agencies and different countries online we decided to just go for it! The country we choose was Guatemala. We started our "paper chase" in September 2006. Many social worker meetings, signatures, and notaries later we were finally "paper ready" and could be matched with a baby!

This journal is for friends and family (or anyone really) who I know I neglect by not letting you know exactly what is going on. You guys are sincerely concerned and I appreciate it. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. This is for you!!!
